JICF Children’s Ministry – The Rock

Mission

In partnership with parents, to disciple children so they will become true followers of Jesus Christ.

Vision

Rooted in Matthew 28:19–20, The Rock Children’s Ministry embraces the Great Commission as its compass and heartbeat. We work together with parents to help children grow up to become true followers of Jesus Christ. Our hope and prayer is that The Rock will become a grace-filled community where children, parents, teachers, and assistants build each other up in Christ.

Purpose

We believe parents are the primary disciplers of their children. The Rock partners with parents to nurture children ages 0–12 (up to grade 6), guiding them to know, love, and obey Jesus. We provide a safe, joyful, and Scripture-centered environment where children can grow spiritually while experiencing God’s grace.

Core Values

  • Biblical Foundation: The Word of God is central to all we do. Every activity is evaluated in the light of Scripture.
  • Prayer: Both personal and corporate prayer sustain the ministry. True fruitfulness comes through prayer.
  • Discipleship: The Great Commission drives our ministry; disciple-making is our heartbeat.
  • Partnership with Parents: We work alongside parents to help children grow as followers of Christ.
  • Grace-filled Community: We seek to embody God’s grace so children, parents, teachers, and assistants can extend grace to one another.

Programs

  • Nursery (Ages 0–3): Teachers and helpers facilitate classes. One parent or nanny may accompany a child.
  • Preschool (Ages 3–6): Two classes per service, each led by a teacher with assistants.
  • Elementary (Ages 6–12): Six classes per service, each with a teacher and assistant.

Outcomes

Through The Rock, children will: - Learn to love God and His Word.
- Grow in obedience and Christlike character.
- Experience grace and community in fellowship.
- Be nurtured to become disciples who make disciples.

The Rock Children’s Ministry is a place where children are welcomed with love, nurtured in faith, and discipled to follow Jesus. By partnering with parents and building a grace-filled community, we seek to raise up the next generation of Christ’s disciples.
